Let’s dive deeper…
Q: What inspires you?
Science and technology. The discovery and knowledge of our environment around us always made me wonder of new possibilities. I imagine the day when we find the cure to cancer, or create drought resistant crops, or provide remote communities around the world with widespread access to information and education.
Q: When did you first become interested in working in technology?
When I was young, I wanted to be an astronaut. Seeing pictures of the Hubble telescope and the idea of being in far away places is really thrilling. I became interested in designing buildings and cities. Then, my father bought me my first PC. I became fascinated with it. Learning about how computers originated and figuring out how they work further expanded my interest in learning about technology over the following years.
Q: What are your feelings about Hack.Diversity so far?
It is a very important program that helps to expand opportunities for people who start off with little to no connection to the technology industry. This is my situation, and one that many deserving and talented people from humble origins encounter. I’m excited, happy, and thrilled to start working at Hubspot. I intend to work hard and earn my full-time offer from the company after my internship period!
Q: Has your Hack.Diversity journey been what you expected?
It has delivered on everything that I had been expecting so far. I’ve never had a formal mentor before. Not sure what to expect, but am fascinated about the potential. Hack.Diversity has given me a great opportunity to get my foot in the door of the technology industry. Now, I have better expectations of my career path because of it.
Q: How do you like to spend your free time?
I paint every so often to help me relax and wonder. I love to cook and experience new flavors. Learn about new technologies and its advancements. Drink coffee and wine.
HubSpot internships will start on May 15th. Stay tuned for next Tuesday’s “Meet Our Cohort vol. 1, no. 7.” ICYMI, meet the interns we’ve already introduced!
