Let’s dive deeper…
Q: What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I wanted to be a professional soccer player, just like any other kid growing up in South America. I became interested in the technology route ever since my first computer programming class in high school. I found it very interesting and I did very well in the class!
Q: What’s your (current) dream job?
To be CEO of my own tech company.
Q: How do you want to change the world? How do you want to change the tech scene?
By making it more affordable and accessible to small businesses and people in general, so that they have a better chance of succeeding, especially in developing countries and less privileged areas. I think right now only big companies have access to the type of information technology capable of solving many problems around the world, and we should make it available to everyone.
Q: Why is diversity important to you?
It is very important to bring, and to understand, new ideas and perspectives, especially in a globalized economy.
Q: What motivates you?
I am motivated by learning; I just think that there is so much to learn, and thus, the more we learn as a society and individuals the better we would become at solving problems.
Jorge started at Vertex on May 30th. Stay tuned for Thursday’s “Meet Our Cohort vol. 1, no. 14.” ICYMI, meet the interns we’ve already introduced!
