D&AD Impact Award is a new award scheme set up by D&AD and Advertising Week to ‘celebrate the power of creativity to stimulate positive change.’ They decided that it was a time for new award scheme based on the need for designers and businesses to put ‘purpose beyond profit’ and use the ‘power of creativity to create a better and fairer more sustainable world.’ So it is with great pride that Chayn announces that our partnership campaign Snap Counsellors have picked up a ‘Graphite Pencil’ for the first D&AD Impact award in ‘Communication & Interaction’ and ‘Community/Public Project’ category!
The world’s first teen helpline on snapchat, Snap Counsellors, was created to give a discreet and friendly space for teens to talk about relationship violence.
Since it was launched in March 2016, the impact has been phenomenal! Over 300 individuals, hailing from all parts of the world — South America, US, India and UK, have used Snap Counsellors for one-to-one support for abuse, stalking and harassment. This impact alone shows how important it is that teens have a safe zone where they can talk freely about their personal experience of an abusive relationship or seek advice for someone they know. Snap Counsellors have also encouraged thousands to come out and talk about relationship abuse. It’s successfully removing the stigma surrounding counselling. It’s also initiating the conversation, bringing more awareness on abuse and connecting individuals to useful services for further help.
Don’t take our word for it, read what people (using Snap Counsellors) are saying:
