Blockchain/crypto changing the SV landscape

The smartest startup people I know are all running towards block chain and crypto. There’s been close to $2B invested into the space via ICO’s in the last 12 months which is more money than was invested by VC into seed last year.

This means that the biggest innovations and best startup investments will likely be block chain or Crypto startups the next few years.

Most VC’s can’t invest in the asset class because of their Limited Partner Agreements. They will likely miss out.

Most securities ICO’s can’t happen in the United States because of regulation. This means that boom in innovation will likely happen overseas.

Startups no longer need to be in SV to raise >$5M. Startups are much less interested in moving to US because Trump. #sigh

There is going to be rapid growth non US startups over the next decade.

Looking forward to Silicon Valley having more global competition. 🙂
