New year, New Blog 🎊

Breaking News — Hack.Alumni has a blog.

At the beginning of 2020, we, the members of the Alumni Leadership Council, created a strategy to reinforce community belonging, elevate alumni into leadership, and expand the tech pipeline. Then, the pandemic occurred, and it seemed to have thrown a wrench in our plans.

We faced a new challenge: How could we build community when we couldn’t even see each other in person?

After scrapping plans to meet up in person, the idea, along with other game-changing ideas, to develop a blog was born.

Through this blog, we intend to:

  • Connect with Hack.Alumni, the Hack.Community, allies, and anyone interested in joining or supporting the community
  • Highlight the achievements of Hack.Alumni
  • Grow and learn together — both professionally and technically

Who are we?

In short, Hack.Alumni is a collective of highly skilled Black, and Latinx individuals coming out of the Hack.Diversity program.

The Alumni Leadership Council (ALC) represents the entire Hack.Alumni community, currently 150+ strong and growing every year. We are passionate about advancing and supporting the development of all Hack.Alumni so that they continue their path as representative role models building the future of tech.

And for those who are unfamiliar with Hack.Diversity: it is a program of the New England Venture Capital Association, created to address one of the region’s most glaring workforce inefficiencies, bringing together underrepresented sources of talent with the region’s hottest, fastest-growing companies in Boston.

Looking forward

As 2021 rolls around, the ALC plans to produce content covering the following topics:

  • Interviewing
  • Career growth
  • Highlighting alumni
  • Tech tutorials
  • Recaps of our favorite Hack.Alumni events
  • And more

We want to hear from YOU

We welcome our readers to become writers for this blog as well! Whether you’re a professional, a student, or a member of the Hack.Diversity community, if you have knowledge that you want to share, please reach out to us at alumnicouncil@hackdiversity.com
