“The Gateway Drug”

Part I: The hacker value prop

Whether it’s your first time coding, or you’ve been coding since you were 7, a hackathon provides the perfect opportunity to dive into a new skill.

Not to mention free food, drinks, and dope prizes!

Just dive in. Here are some reasons why you should go to a hackathon ASAP:

  1. Fun - Build cool shit.

2. Community — Make friends. Not many events allow you to bond for 36 hours with peers from across the globe. At a hackathon, you’ll establish relationships that will last a lifetime.

3. Job — Put yourself in close contact with the hottest employers while building your skillset and showcasing it to them.

4. Potential Cofounders — you aren’t going to find the next 10 Mark Zuckerbergs in their dorm rooms; you’re going to find them at a hackathon.

Meet your future cofounders at a hackathon.

Overall, hackathons are the perfect environment to do. There are few places where you can learn new skills, build lasting relationships, get job offers, and have a great time all in one.

Try something new. Go to a hackathon!
