When we sat down to start our board game review blog, we wanted to give our readers a quick view of our reviews. Something they can either read in detail or just glance over the key points.

Images! We will fill the posts with high quality images and maybe some videos, but to us, the biggest thing missing in the board game community is really great pictures.

The Review

The first item you will see is The Short Story followed by some random quirky blurb like Like It, or Love It. These are here for your quick reference so you do not need to spend 3 minutes reading our review if you don’t want to… though you should… And while they may appear random each one actually means something based on a rating of 1–5.

  1. Get a Priest and Burn It
  2. Not Worth It
  3. It’s Okay
  4. Like It
  5. Love It

Next, we list out some details about the game.

BoardGameGeek rating (linked)
Cost
Number of Players
Age Recommendation
How long it takes to play
The publisher (linked)
The designer(s)
The year it was published

Then we get into the overview of the game

The description on the back of the game box. This is the true intro to our review

Next, we list 5 categories for a quick overview of what the game is all about.

Concept — The Mechanics
Quality — The of the build and materials
Artwork — Is it pretty | ugly | too busy…
Difficulty —
How hard is it to learn or play the game
Replayability — Can you play it over and over or not

Finally, we have our personal ratings and reviews (usually two of us)
