I’ve written about several tools for our toolbelt. Each one has strengths, weaknesses, targets,etc. In the ethical hacker world, in pentesting in general there is no one size fits all. But in one thing we can all concur, Linux is the to go Operation System in pentesting. And of course, the community provides several distributions design with focus on security and pentesting. In this article I’ll talk about the most popular choices.

One of the easiest ways of getting a complete tool belt is to try one of the Linux distros with focus on security and testing. The following list is ordered by popularity (according to distrowatch at the time of writing):
