Once there were two kids. Both of them used to see each other in the play ground almost daily.

One of them was Sam he belonged to San Francisco while other was Dwayne Trensmith from Jamaica. They belonged to two entirely different cities but childhood knows no boundaries.

They soon became best friends, playing together, sharing their tiffins, sharing clothes etc became their daily affair.

One day Sam’s cousin (elder than Sam) paid a visit and accompanied him to the playground. Sam introduced Dwayne to his cousin. Sam’s cousin did not shake hands with Dwayne and didn’t play with them too.

On way back home the elder told Sam about staying away from Dwayne. Sam asked why is he saying so?

He said they don’t belong to us, we are superior to them.

Sam was quite young to understand this but he just said one thing.

I have heard such things from my other friends too but I know only the one thing. Dwayne is a very good boy and he is my best friend. His mother sends chocolates for me too (P.S innocent boy)

The very next turn his cousin was run over by a car. Sam was out of clue, about how to take him to a safe place.

Then a car stopped and a black guy came out with stethoscope surrounding his neck. He picked the boy up, provided him the basic medical assistance and took him safely to the hospital.

That elder boy was so embarrassed when he got to know that a black guy saved him out of no interest but for humanity.

We often get obsessed by the stereotypes and the things we are taught by the surrounding people.

Some people like Sam’s cousin get the basic things after being run over by a car ;-)

Let’s break the stereotypes and use our agile mind.

Above was just a story that connects the dots and conveys my message.

In our daily lives too, we should think like a child.

A child is always curious. Observe a child if you get a chance, he observes every single thing given in his hand, he tries to eat it, tries to bang it on floor etc.

On the contrary, we learn certain things and we get so accustomed to the solutions that we stop using our minds. That is why we can’t solve very simple problems sometimes.
