The one time you can expect Hackers to strike is during the Holidays especially in late December. The reason being is everyone is out Christmas shopping and buying gifts for their loved ones. During the Holidays there is always a massive spike in online purchases and in Hacked Bank Accounts. This is why you should be extra careful when making purchases on an untrusted network. The best thing to do is to not make any purchases on a network you don’t control. However if it is necessary make sure you are protected by using a VPN. Man in the Middle attacks are much more common during the Holidays so much so you may even see it on the News. The only way to prevent this from happening to you is by using a VPN when you connect to the untrusted Network. However this is not the only way Hackers will try and get your information. They may also use Phishing techniques and email scams to steal your information or load your device up with Viruses. While VPN’s and Anti-Virus Software will go a long way in protecting you they are useless if you willingly hand over your information to the Hacker. This is why you should never open untrusted emails and never click on untrusted links. While your shopping for you loved ones make sure you are fully protected from Hackers. There is nothing worse then to realize that a Hacker has run off with all your money over the Holidays.
