How We Built a Secure Crypto Portfolio Tracker

We built Squirrel for people who are nuts about tracking their digital assets. As blockchain enthusiasts we want to track all of our holdings from one app. I was tired of switching between various exchanges and excel sheets to manage my assets, so I envisioned Squirrel, an all-in-one solution that is fully-featured and it is easy to use.

Squirrel is as a crypto portfolio and asset tracking tool, offering real-time market data for all token holdings. Our main mission is to equip users with live price updates and portfolio tracking tools, so they may react to any changes in the market quickly and stay on top of their game.

Fast setup, ease of use, and integration into existing activities are among our top priorities for Squirrel users. Simply add your assets, select your preferred data points, and leave on your desk for real-time tracking. Users can use Squirrel to visualize any changes in portfolio value over time and check the percentage weighting of all contributing digital assets.

Live price updates for all assets, in one place

Whether you are a long-term HODLer, ICO investor or day trader — it is important to know what you have and where you have it. Squirrel allows users to add custom assets or import directly, receiving live price information as soon as it becomes available.

No matter how spread out your assets are across various wallets or exchanges, Squirrel has it covered. Simply add your token holdings and their locations, or connect via API key to any of the top 15 cryptocurrency exchanges including Coinbase, Binance, and HitBTC for live updates.

Track and visualize your portfolio in real-time

Squirrel offers a range of options so that users may get the most relevant information at a glance. Users may choose data points such as 24hr volume, 24hr high/low and value of holdings over time as a pie chart or bar graph, with data sourced from reliable industry leaders such as CryptoCompare and CoinMarketCap.

This depends on your use case and level of daily involvement with cryptocurrencies, so we have made an effort to make it simple to access key insights, with candlesticks deeper in the app for advanced users.

Unrivaled security and privacy

We actively safeguard the information of our users, dedicating ourselves to modern encryption and security practices. Only you can gain access to your portfolio data, and users may choose set up Touch ID for added security.

Unlike others in the space, we won’t be sharing portfolio data to third parties. Even if we wanted to, it’s encrypted to military standard. We will never hold on to any of your data, and it is yours to delete at any time.

Squirrels features and functionality vs Competitors:

Track relevant news and influencer movements

Over the next couple of weeks, we will also be releasing our Market Watch feature. Unique to Squirrel, Market Watch allows you to view the overall market and track assets along with news, social accounts, and other updates — filtered by the holdings in your portfolio. Any updates or new posts to these will be delivered within the app, right alongside historical price and portfolio value.

This is (in our humble opinion) an absolute gamechanger for traders and blockchain participants looking to stay on top of their portfolio. The ability to filter through the noise and act in real-time on the most up-to-date and relevant trends and news will serve to empower Squirrel users to make better decisions in managing their digital assets.
