My Dad Doesn’t Read the Paper

Less than 2 years ago, my dad read the Wall Street Journal every day. He would go to Starbucks and read the entire paper.

Today, he will go to Starbucks, order an Americano, and read the WSJ app on his phone for an hour.

About 15 years ago, he bought a TiVo. He hasn’t watched a single commercial since 2001. Seriously.

Can you get this through your head? My dad, a primary target for a lot of advertising, isn’t seeing your ads because he’s online. He’s gone digital.

90% of his media consumption is done on an iPhone.

If you still think this whole internet thing is a passing fad and a waste of your marketing dollars, you’re just wrong.

Thanks so much for reading! If you liked it, hit that heart button below. Would mean a lot to me. :)
