Samsung lost to Huawei on the foldable phone

Samsung is a game changer in the smartphone sector. Until the Galaxy Note 7 product, everything was going well. As you know, this product hurt Samsung’s strong position against Apple and Huawei. İn 2013, Samsung announced that there’s ongoing research about the foldable smartphone product.

Huawei worried Samsung about the product in the MWC 2019 Summit and both Companies had the same size. They were facing one another in the Summit. Samsung was hiding the foldable phone in the protected glass panel. On the other hand, the CEO of the Huawei was letting tech journalists use the device. I understand the situation of Samsung clearly. Huawei was proud of the prototype because it was smooth, sexy and attractive. Samsung’s foldable phone was good, though they knew it wasn’t enough for the community of their users.

What was Samsung’s reaction to their rival?

The company worked hard to be successful. I appreciate every tryout between Huawei and Samsung. While Huawei was producing P30/P30 pro products, the rival was introducing the foldable phone to the developer’s summit.

At the event, Google officially announced Android support for the foldable phone, especially for Samsung.

Let me give you a few details about the product testing:
* Samsung foldable phone tested 100000 times. The results were excellent. There was no harm to both screens, especially between the two screens. The foldable phone design seems like a book. When the device folded, the scene wasn’t smooth.
* Testers tried three various applications at the same time: there was no performance decline in the extensive test process.
* While the smartphone was producing, Google was changing settings of the Android simultaneously.
* Samsung didn’t seem to bribe the developers, though the company wanted to have the support of the whole community.

After long research and sleepless period, Samsung tried to send prototype products to some of the tech journalists in the world. What happened? There was a seamless screen protector layer at display screens. Testers removed the layer, naturally. There was a notification in some boxes like:’’ You shouldn’t dismiss the screen protector layer.’’ The result has been the worst in the quarter.

Samsung initiated to recall the prototype foldable phone in the USA and then from other countries. Whether I like Samsung as a brand or not, it is a pity. Huawei is the winner and the one who can challenge the whole smartphone sector. The company is going to produce a foldable phone tested by the European Union. The Union approved the CE certificate for the product. I wish them good luck for the next challenge against Huawei.
