Should I invest in Bitcoin or Altcoin before the May 2020 halvening?

On the way up, the good, big altcoins move almost as much as BTC or more. For example ETH and BNB both quadrupled while BTC quadrupled between April and June.

On the way down, they also fell by 60%, just as much as Bitcoin.

However, the smaller altcoins fell by 80%-90% on the way down.

That means that it most likely doesn’t matter if you hold BTC, BNB or ETH. On the way up or down, they all increase or decrease the same, percentage wise. This isn’t 100% guaranteed, but that’s pretty likely.

They might go up by 10% less, but you always have a chance to triple your profit with alts than with BTC.

However, smaller alts won’t go up as much and will go down much more if there is no alt season.

So, overall with a 50% ETH/BNB and 50% smaller alts portfolio, you would likely face 30% less gains than if you only had BTC should there be no alt season.

However, that also means that once you are in a 100% or 200% profit, you need to be extremely careful, because they drop a lot more than Bitcoin.

That’s my strategy for the next couple of months. Hold 20%-40% ETH and BTC and spread the rest among selected smaller alts.

That is the price to pay for having a shot at triple the returns or more than with BTC only.
