Today marked the last day of the Festival of Code, and it’s safe to say that all the finalists were bustling with talent and created some excellent applications.

‘füd’ made it through to the semi-finals in the “Should Exist” category and is live here: http://fudyrs.herokuapp.com/ . It is amazing to see an app go from idea, to fully featured and hosted in such a short space of time.

Attending the festival is truly an exhilarating experience. Giving young people the chance to connect with people with the same passion for technology as them. In addition, some amazing people from the industry attended the festival from Dallas Campbell from the BBC to Mike Butcher of TechCrunch.

Ever year the event seems to turn out more and more finished products, some of which could almost pass for full-blown startups if you didn’t know the teams behind them were usually somewhere between 8 and 16 years old ~ Mike Butcher

Young Rewired State has definitely impacted my life and I owe a lot to the YRS team. The 2015 festival has been the last year that I and many of my colleagues can compete, as you must be under 18. However, this only means we will return as mentors next year to pass on the hypothetical baton, and get more young people interested in coding.
