If you have been following Hackquarters for more than a year now, you probably can remember MediaMarkt Startup Challenge from last year. It was the first time that we collaborated with MediaMarkt and the event was at Joint Idea, Levent.

In 2018, MediaMarkt Startup Challenge invited 11 great startups for the event day, to present their ideas for a jury consisting of MediaMarkt executives, investors, Hackquarters team and professionals from the retail industry. From those 11 startups, 3 were chosen as winners and got rewards such as; a chance to present their idea in front of professionals at Turkey’s biggest retailtech event Chain Stores Association Conference, PoC study with Tekzen and chance to present at RetailTech Hub Finals.

Winners of last year’s MediaMarkt Startup Challenge winners was BuyBuddy, Udentify and Pacer. You can see more details about last year’s winners in our blog (in Turkish).

Would you like to take a step into world stage in retail tech?

MediaMarkt Startup Challenge provides countless opportunities to retailtech startups, in various verticals. Same as last year, this year MediaMarkt and associates are looking for retailtech startups specializing in 3 categories: Retail Sales Technologies, Post-Sales Technologies, and Digital Transformation Process.

In general, MediaMarkt and RetailTech Hub will be looking for great startups to enhance their current processes, with the use of technology. Among our applicants, best startups will be shortlisted to present in front of this year’s jury. Winners of MediaMarkt Startup Challenge will be rewarded again with great benefits such as PoC chance with retails, chance to attend global retailtech events, chance to join global accelerator programs and more.
