Simplify the Connected World With ESP8266
myDevices, SparkFun, and Espressif have launched the world’s first ESP8266 IoT contest.
myDevices’ Cayenne platform supports the work of 260,000 users with its drag-and-drop IoT Project Builder, allowing those users to quickly design, prototype, and commercialize IoT solutions without needing enterprise-level resources. Just announced, SparkFun’s ESP8266 Thing Dev Board is the first non-LoRa board to be supported by the free platform, opening up development possibilities to Makers looking to create connected projects with Wi-Fi using Cayenne.

As if that news wasn’t awesome enough, myDevices, SparkFun, and Espressif have teamed up to launch the world’s first ESP8266 IoT contest. We want to see how you can use the popular Wi-Fi module to simplify the connected world!
There is no project too big or too small. Want to monitor the temperature in a room? Perfect. Thinking of creating an automated garden? Excellent. Want to use your Raspberry Pi, Arduino, and ESP8266 all in one giant home automation project? Even better! We can’t wait to see what you are able to come up with.
Contest winners will walkaway with cash, a SparkFun promo code, swag, as well as the new ESP-WROVER-KIT from Espressif. But that’s not all! We’ll also be giving out 75 ESP8266 Thing Dev Boards to the top ideas on a first-come, first-served basis.
Ready to get started? You can delve deeper into the contest details on its official page, and find inspiration for your project here.
