Day 110 — Black Birds — Haibun Journey View From My Window

I look out my window and see three large black birds sitting on a low branch of the maple tree. Not sure if they are blackbirds, starlings or grackles; most likely starlings. Anyway annoyed as I am that they are spying my feeders, I’m even more dismayed when a flock of them fly up from my porch and land in the trees with the first three. All day long my trees and feeders have been host to these pesky greedy birds. Even as dusk approaches and I’m typing this I spy another one outside my studio window. There are not even any feeders on this side of the house. Oh well, I guess I leave the feeders empty for a few days until they move on.
