Day 345- Wild Turkey- Haibun Journey View From My Window

From my window I see a couple of wild turkey crossing the roadway. We slow down and open the window to get a better view. I try to get a picture, but alas they are to fast. The one on my side of the road slips into the woods, his colors blending with the trees. Sometimes in life it seems like things are just out of reach, or just beyond the horizon. But it makes me all the more determined to keep trying. I open my eyes and wait for the next opportunity.

wild turkey vanishes
into the forest
his short soft purring
fading into silence
