A response to the Haiku This: “Bravery” prompt

One day before the Monet exhibit officially opened at the de Young Museum in San Francisco, our warrior is treated to a private showing — no crowds, no hurry — just family, the curator, and Claude Monet. (Family Photo)

Fifty years after
Monet’s last painting, she’s born
Today, they will bond

Trembling but buoyed
Bravery her strength, her goal
Be in Claude’s presence

Garden to canvas
Like him, teacher leaves her mark
Her canvas — her kids

Neither cataracts
Monet’s, nor cancer, Leslie’s
Thwarts this appointment

Monet’s Les Roses
Beauty beckoning beauty
Masterpieces meet
