a story in five haiku

hope is for the brave,
the tremendous, those with grit:
all who dare to love

what started as an
underground burial found
reckless abandon

morphed into dismal
prospects at uncovering
oneself from a murk

within, brokenness
became badge, not dishonor,
but of pink wing nubs

unfit to push off
till belief reborn; there’s no
such thing as falling
