You are offended
When I don’t hear what you say —
It’s not intended

I am annoyed too
Missing words to my dismay
The sounds all askew

I hear, but it’s mush:
A word here and there just lost:
My ears make a slush

Just listen you say
Your eyes and voice full of frost
I try: no headway

My world is muffled
To you it may seem surreal —
This is my struggle

Those with ears to hear
Don’t understand how I feel
And I disappear
