Flight Patterns

triple haiku for my friend Zan

Birds in a puddle — photo, courtesy of a friend

Let’s fly a while, merged
Feathers brace fickle weather
Patterns, resist heights

Who’ll fly? when howling
Wings drip on doubt-speckled clouds,
Can claps clear thunder?

We’ll fly this way, shared
Challenge a mere puddle — sky’s
Got nothing on us
