Welcome, Welcome, 2020! In classic haiku form — 3 lines, 17 moras — inspire yourself and inspire us
Increasing bigotry, divided countries, fires in Australia, growing fascism, never-ending wars, devastating hurricanes…not to mention personal issues. What is it about the new year, though, that inspires us to make resolutions and gives us the optimism to start afresh? It’s just another day and yet so much more — a chance for hope and renewal. Tell us in three lines (or sets of three lines, each in classic haiku form) your vision of “hope” and what it means for you.
But wait, there’s a hitch: start with a person or a quote (or both!) that inspires you, and tie your haiku back to them in some way. Here’s a sample to get you started (or dare I say, inspired):
