Careless words alone
float like toxins in the air
suffocating minds

Watching bystanders
absorb words in ignorance
unchallenged, unchecked

Darkness waits its turn
multiplying the meaning
innocence stolen

In oblivion
we fall empty from deceit
with hidden meaning

Words will do their work
consequential actions speak
all from careless words

When our words and that of our leaders go beyond what we speak. Unchallenged and unchecked we suffocate from the consequential actions.

If more of us and our influencers and leaders spoke about what most of us believe, a shared humanity, then what a world that would be.
