kat, alleged or not,
cries moon tears for earth assaulted —
paradise plundered

One of my favorite poets on Medium is the alleged kat, who hasn’t been very active of late but who recently posted this heartbreaking poem about the destruction of her homeland:

I cried as I read it. Her poems are always emotional for me but this one hit home because I see similar destruction all around my small Floridian city, which once felt like an island in a sea of strip malls and parking lots.

What are we doing to our Mother, our homes, our souls?

Hey, the alleged kat, you inspire me every time you write — EVERY TIME.

I was always a writer but lived in a bookkeeper’s body before I found Medium and broke free — well, almost. Working to work less and write more.
