This morning’s work

Lake in Canada’s Yukon Territory — personal photo

Hot raking gravel
for driveway in sun — no wind
Bright birdsong greets ears

Liquid drops of sound
refreshing body and heart
Sun not so hot now

Breeze a cooling break -
gravel flows smooth through rake as
water in clear lake
