For a palm reading
sans gypsy myths, to reveal
another life line

Crystal ball confessed
your smile’d brace February
hymns, seeking Spring chords

Not for lost buds, but
a poached garden, chock-full of
drinkable posies

Learning their own names
in Latin before May, when
fresh peas shuck themselves
