LED light for hair growth

LED light therapy devices are the best to fast track hair regrowth for both men and women. They work against balding, receding hairlines and hair thinning by stimulating follicles with oxygen and nutrients to slow down hair loss. Increasing scalp circulation strengthens the follicle and extends the growth for new, thick hair regrowth. Just like your skin, your scalp needs extra blood flow and collagen stimulation in order to function at its peak and be at its healthiest. There are even baseball hats that are specifically designed to have LED lights inside of them, but you can simply use the devices which are designated for your skincare like LED face masks (two-for-one!). Red light is not the only recommended kind of light: blue light has anti-acne and sebum-regulating power, therefore it works wonders if used on the scalp as well.

Hair oiling

The main reason why your hair is not growing is that you’re not hair oiling. Hair oiling means applying growth stimulating oils to your scalp. The number one oil you need to grow your hair out is rosemary oil. Rosemary essential oil is derived from the flowering tops of the evergreen, shrubby herb found growing wild throughout Mediterranean countries, where it is believed to have originated. It is actually too strong to put on your scalp by itself, so you need to dilute it or to buy a pre-made oil where the rosemary is already diluted. You can try the one by Mielle or the Magic Elixir by Kiehl’s. By diluting it, you’re making it less strong so it won’t irritate your scalp and you’ll still get the benefits. Other great oils are castor oil, argan oil, jojoba oil and sweet almond oil. If your hair is on the thinner side, castor oil doesn’t work that well because it’s very thick, so go for something more lightweight like jojoba or argan.

So how to do it? Start off with a scalp massage for 15 minutes, then go in with the oil all over the scalp. To maintain healthy mids and ends as well, apply argan, jojoba or sweet almond oil. Keep the oils in for at least 2 hours before washing it out. Wash your hair twice a week and do this routine each time.

Hair care routine

Here is the best hair care routine for healthy and long hair. Not all the steps are mandatory every single time you need to wash your hair, you can try and see what works best for you.

  1. Brush your scalp with a bamboo brush to stimulate blood flow
  2. Apply your favorite growth stimulating oil to the scalp
  3. Massage your scalp for 15 minutes
  4. Apply argan oil, sweet almond oil or jojoba oil to the mids and ends
  5. Wrap your hair in a plastic wrap
  6. Let it sit for 2 to 4 hours
  7. Under the shower, apply a scalp scrub (super important after hair oiling)
  8. Shampoo twice (emulsify the shampoo before applying) and your scalp only: the runoff is enough to cleanse the mids and ends without drying them out too much
  9. Put on a hair mask and brush out your tangles with your fingers
  10. Let it absorb for 10–20 minutes
  11. Rinse and apply conditioner (always remove excess water before)
  12. Twist the ends to lock in moisture and wash it out
  13. Dry your hair with a microfiber towel
  14. Apply a leave-in conditioner or detangler
  15. Let your hair air dry or apply a heat protector before using heat
