DAY 1

Allow me to pour my heart out to you for a second.

If it weren’t for the Internet, I would not be able to express my opinions, thoughts, feelings, experiences, expertise and knowledge about everything I know currently and will learn in the future.

I am forever grateful and appreciative for whoever invented the Internet, Mark Zuckerberg for nerding out and giving us Facebook on a platter.

Strategic marketing is how I am currently and actively building a business education platform for hairstylists from scratch.

Transparency is one of the “secret” ingredients to keep the process going.

One of the other ones is talking about it in real-time, as it happens.
Let’s not conduct business like 2014 or 2004 anymore.

I don’t feature just any work for the sake of catering to everybody…

…not my style.

I seemed to have experienced and learned what thousands of hair professionals could benefit from and the existence of the Internet (just like it did for all of us).

It opened a gate for me to do what I want which is to pay it forward, front load valuable and useful information never spoken about in this industry before, and show other stylists along the way, what I am doing and how I am doing it.

I’m just different like that. You should be too.

I still love the hair, but I love helping hairstylists more…people over haircuts:).

I don’t say this to brag, far from it…

I want to impress you upon just how easy it is to create something out of nothing, with a bigger — than — life vision, a will to execute consistently and a desire to help shorten other hairstylists’ learning curve.

There is no reason why other hairstylists’ should feel lost in a sea of contradicting information…not if I can help it.

I was always the odd one out, the misfit, the big cheeky one, the truth teller, the one pointing out the elephant in the room and I know there are thousands like me out there.

It’s only a matter of time until we find one another.

Thank you Internet!

So if you are wondering where to start, just know that you already have started by reading this blog and being on my Instagram profile.

You already have all the tools necessary: a mobile device, an Internet connection, and done — for — you platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Periscope, and about 500 others to continue what you started.

To clear the air, I am not encouraging you nor want you to leave your current employment to start an online venture…

…Quite the opposite, what I envision for every hairstylist who already statistically spends half of their free time online looking at someone else’s “internet presence”a.k.a profiles, is to take it up a notch and understand that it is not rocket science and it’s not a full-time job.

If I can do it part time, so can you.

All it is is something you have never done before but could do it better than anyone including myself if you took an extra hour or two a day for personal growth and self-education.

I would never sell you on a system to get — rich — quick but continuous self-education is one of the faster ways to get there…whatever your “there” is.

I respect practicality, we all have bills and people to take care of in some way shape or form, but do not allow the normal distractions of life like having to do laundry or negative people or even hours of creeping Instagram photos aimlessly, hold you back from doing YOU!

As Brian Tracy says, “don’t get stuck on someday isle”.

I appreciate you all.

Melissa
