A hellish commute π π π
One of the perks of living in Austin
Full disclosure I donβt have much to complain about. Travel to and from work during the week for me is better than average compared to most brutes who slug through a drive upwards of 75 and even 90 minutes or worse.
For whatever reason though today mine skewed toward the mean.
In total driving home I logged 9.6 miles in 67 minutes.
After some quick calculations with the help of my phone, that averages out to roughly 0.14 miles per minute.
**Joke is on you Mrs. Carlson. So much for your math class, βYouβll definitely need to know how to do this by hand,β and βYou wonβt always have a calculator.β**
Sorry. Anyway like I was saying. 67 minutes. 9.6 miles.
βYeah, I heard you. So, whatβs the point?β
The first 2 of those miles took 49 of those minutes.
The overwhelming majority of my time, frustration and honking all to go a measly two miles. Then, things kicked into gear and a handful of Ed Sheeran songs later I was home.
The point is maybe I am closer to my destination than I think. Perhaps, you are, too. Not in terms of distance to be traveled, but in the time it will take to get there.
When the first leg of your journey is defined by friction, frustration and little progress, lean into the pressure. Accelerated times are coming.
