UNCF (United Negro College Fund) and Hallo are teaming up to launch a digital event series for Black students seeking careers in STEM. The UNCF Revolution Series aims to bring actionable career guidance to college students provided by leading corporations.

During each session, a company will host an online event to cover career pathways, academic prerequisites, and employment opportunities. Students will have the opportunity to engage directly with company representatives. In doing so, they will walk away with greater clarity into the company and potential career pathways.

As the nation reconciles its issues with race and equity, companies receive increased scrutiny to ensure their actions align with their statements.

“We feel that we are at a critical inflection point where the technology available to us is more than capable of improving outcomes for talent. We have invested heavily in our technology and team to enable firms like UNCF to scale their impact and be more data-driven. With 76 years of excellence, the legacy is undeniable, and we are honored to be part of their rise.” — Vern Howard, CEO & Co-Founder of Hallo

As schools across the nation are completing their first fall semesters in COVID, many students are actively exploring ways to build their social capital. By combining their efforts to elevate Black students’ career aspirations, technology becomes an enabler and accelerator to be more data-driven to scale impact. As part of the partnership, UNCF will leverage Hallo’s proprietary talent engagement software to connect thousands of students to companies across the nation.

“We realize that Black talent is plentiful across HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) and the nation as a whole. COVID has created unique opportunities to rethink what the career engagement experience is, and companies like Netflix are excited to build more authentic relations with our community of scholars.” — Chad Womack Senior Director of STEM Programs and Initiatives UNCF

“UNCF is the largest scholarship organization for students of color. It has seeded the socioeconomic mobility of thousands of Black scholars. We are honored to support them as an organization and as an enabler through Hallo technology.” — Yamini Bangarusamy, Head of Growth and Community at Hallo.
