A new name, website and more!
After almost two years of building, helping our community save over $4M worth of crypto as GoodGhosting, the time has come for a change. Now we wave goodbye to our old“sounded fun at 4am in a hackathon” name, GoodGhosting, and welcome our new one, HaloFi. We are growing up fast!

We chose the name HaloFi because it represents our aim to help you achieve your best financial self. Whether you want to save stable coins or hold onto tokens for the long term, our rewards, badges, and other goodies will motivate you to reach your goals. With our friendly user interface, getting started with decentralised finance (DeFi) is easy.
But this rebrand is more than a name change. Along with an all new website we are shipping a bunch of features to make HaloFi more:

Playful
We have always been about using gamification to help you hit your goals. We are now doubling down with the following:
Badges
As you reach important goals, you’ll earn badges. These badges celebrate achievements like completing challenges (formerly pools), increasing you GG Score, or even being crowned event champion.
Halo Heroes
Meet the Halo Heroes, the DeFi guides with friendly faces and glowing halos! Each player gets a unique Avatar with a halo that changes colors based on your progress in HaloFi. These heroes will light up your journey as you explore DeFi with HaloFi.
Shareable Profiles
Been saving hard with HaloFi? Have you collected a bunch of badges and want to share your progress with the world? Good news is profiles are now shareable, so you can flaunt your financial finesse. New Leaderboards
We have two new leaderboards for you — alongside our original “all time leaderboard”. Now you can find a leaderboard for the five most recent challenges, and one for Celo Governance v2. Get ready to climb those ranks and show off your skills.
Pools are out, Challenges are in!
We’ve revamped this name to better match the fun and excitement of reaching your crypto goals. We’ve divided our challenges into two categories. Unique Challenges for one-off, partner and community challenges, and HaloFi Challenges — a range of quick and convenient challenges. HaloFi challenges are the perfect place to get you started on your crypto journey.
Flexible
Say Hello to Effortless Crypto Transfers
We’ve introduced two awesome new features to help you move funds in and out of HaloFi with ease. With the ‘Bridge and Swap’ widget, you can move your crypto between different blockchains with a few clicks (powered by Squid). No more funds getting stuck in obscure bridges! Our ‘Buy and Sell’ integration (with Ramp), also makes it possible to both sell and buy crypto using your credit, debit card or Revolut. No more signing up for exchanges or waiting hours for your funds to arrive. Fast transfers so you can focus on what matters most — your financial success.
More challenges, more choice
We’ve added more challenges to HaloFi, giving you even more options to choose from. Today (March 9th 2023) we have launched 10 new challenges! These include weekly and monthly deposits for ETH, CELO, cUSD, and USDC, as well as single deposit “Hold” challenges for ETH and CELO.
Custom deposit amounts
We are now making good use of our v2 flexible, or custom, deposit feature. This means in many of our challenges you can choose exactly how much you would like to save or hold. Fitting your financial needs better.
Community Decided Challenges
We’ve been crowd-sourcing challenge ideas from the community as part of our governance v1 and v2 programs. Following the success of these, we are excited to announce the latest round of community governance. If you have the perfect concept for a savings challenge, stay tuned as our v3 governance program will be launching over the next week 👀.
Transparency
Fairer Reward Distribution
We have updated our reward distribution system to be more fair to all savers. The moment that you join a challenge is now taken into account, meaning the earlier you make your deposit each round, the more of the yield you can potentially earn. Want to maximize your yield? Deposit early each round! This increase your share of the rewards, which includes interest and additional reward tokens.
Revamped GG scores
We are revamping how we calculate the GG Scores — more details coming soon 👀 Not only the deposit amount and pool length will be taken into consideration, but also your deposit frequency and other parameters. All from you on-chain activity!
