We’ve positioned ourselves as the premier delivery service provider in Qatar. Next time you’re at a mall, ask if they provide they HAMMALY service. We deliver your products to you the same day and accept cash on delivery.
Our Inspiration
Hammali (الحمالي) n. “a person employed to carry goods; a carrier”.
HAMMALY is inspired by the original Hammalis of Souq Waqif, Doha. As is the case with most expats, they left their countries to better support themselves and their families back home. They came to Qatar as young men in the 60’s, and worked hard over the decades doing whatever work they could find.
However, around the age when most people choose to retire, the original Hammalis still work hard day and night to carry goods for tourists and residents alike.
Over the decades, while the nature of the work of Hammalis has stayed the same, the work itself has evolved. Multiple malls and e-commerce have taken the place of traditional souqs. Cars have taken the place of wheelbarrows. And the relationship between the hammali and the customer has increasingly become mechanized and distant owing to apps, screens and rating systems.
At HAMMALY, we aim to bring out the human side of the service we provide. We want you to know that your tasks are of utmost importance to us, and our Hammalis possess a sense of duty when completing a task. Similarly, we want our Hammalis to know and believe in the hospitable and generous nature of the people in Qatar. In short, we’re striving to create a community based on the shared values of mutual respect, convenience and helping one another.
