Celebrating A Year With Hamoye

Conversation with Shivam Singh Rathore

Time really does speed by. It’s one year since our first set of recruits at Hamoye AI Labs first crossed paths with us. They all were participants in the 2020 Hamoye Data Science Internship program that started last July. The past year has been quite an exciting journey with them and to celebrate their anniversary, we decided to book them a tour around Memory Lane, come with us.

“Yes, the main point is communicating the knowledge you have and that is achieved through my role, not just in the case of projects but taking everyone together on a common platform and including everyone in all the tasks”.

Tell us a bit about yourself.

I am a problem solver, currently working as a data scientist at Hamoye AI labs. I recently got a graduate and post-graduate degree in Computer Science and Engineering, with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics from Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida, India.

Has Hamoye been impactful in defining who you are now and how?

Yes. I now understand business problems and can apply them in the data science domain. My confidence level has grown as I’m more specific now and my communication skills have sharpened. I’ve also learnt patience and expertise in handling actual big data.

How has it been working at Hamoye AI labs?

It has been tremendously encouraging and full of learning.

Describe the past year in a word.

Exciting.

What do you do at Hamoye AI labs?

Designing new and cool tech stuff.

What is your favourite aspect of working at Hamoye AI Labs?

New learning opportunities and new technologies.

What is your relationship with other members of your team like?

Work has caused us to bond. We are like a family now.

You have interacted with almost all the divisions in Hamoye, how do you think your role translates into fulfilling Hamoye’s mission?

Yes, the main point is communicating the knowledge you have and that is achieved through my role, not just in the case of projects but taking everyone together on a common platform and including everyone in all the tasks.

What quality would you say made you employable at Hamoye AI labs?

Craving for learning new technologies, dedication, and self-discipline.

What improvements or growths have you made since you joined the team?

A whole lot that I can’t even keep tabs on them.

First of all, my ability to understand business problems has greatly developed. My work spans across different domains so I am sort of an encyclopedia in the making. I have also learnt to play in a team and with a team. Altogether, I have come to understand Data Science deeper than I used to.

Would you still have chosen Hamoye internships if you could go back in time?

Surely.

How would you describe your time as an Hamoye intern, would you say you were adequately prepared to be a data scientist?

Yes, I would say, it was a stepping stone for me. It gave the practical experience of the domain.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

A senior Data Scientist, always willing to learn.

A word of advice to upcoming data scientists?

Nothing is impossible.
