👑 If you didn’t already know, Slack chats are boomin. 🏆 💣 💪 💃

Millions of people are in group chats on Slack every single day, chatting up a storm. ⚡ ☁

But guess what?

  • It’s really hard to find and join Slack chats!
  • It’s really hard to manage a growing community on Slack!
  • It’s really hard to keep up with all of the Slack chats that you are in!

This is exactly why we created 🐹 Hamster Pad, and today we’re excited to announce a few new 🔑 key features:

  1. An email newsletter tool for Slack admins.
  2. Ability to set a Slack chat on Hamster Pad to private.

Feature

Newsletter Tool

📨 For admins.

Wish you could send an email newsletter to everyone who has joined your Slack chat? Now you can.

  1. Add your Slack chat to Hamster Pad.
  2. Go to your chat page, and then click “Send a Newsletter”.
  3. Write your newsletter and send it out to your chat members!

A history of your newsletters is available for all members of your chat on your chat’s Hamster Pad page.

Feature

Private Communities

🔒 For admins.

Originally Hamster Pad was created as an easy way to discover and join Slack chats, but quickly after launch we realized that people wanted something we didn’t have: support for private communities.

We now support private communities on Hamster Pad. This means that you can add a chat to Hamster Pad so that you get all the benefits, but you can set it to “Private” so that people are required to get an invite to join.

To add a private Slack chat to Hamster Pad follow these steps:

  1. Add your Slack chat to Hamster Pad.
  2. Check the box to make your community private.

That’s it! Super easy.

At Hamster Pad we’re working on building better ways to discover Slack chats, better ways to manage Slack chats, and better ways to keep up with your Slack chats.

Come hang out with us in the official Hamster Pad Slack chat, we’d love to meet you.
