I get anxious and stressed out when I don’t know what my plans are for the next few months ahead. I am an ambitious person who knows what my goals are. However, when things take a turn and don’t go as planned, or I don’t have a plan in mind, I start to panic and have extreme anxiety — I spend many sleepless nights with endless thoughts and worries on my mind. Not too recently, my CEO told me something that made me change my mindset. He said that in life, there will sometimes be no plans at all, and that is okay! He advised me to not stress about the unknown, and instead, enjoy the moment. When you focus on the present, plans will come naturally.

Though it is good to have plans and goals, there will be times when there aren’t any, and that is okay to not have any along the way. On your journey, you will encounter many storms and roadblocks along the way. However, for most of your journey, you will have nothing but a clear path. Do not fret about where the path will take you. Sometimes, you just need to focus on the present in your current surroundings, enjoy the weather, people, and food — enjoy the moment.

“A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery while on a detour.”— Unknown

If you don’t have a plan right now, then it is okay — you are okay, just breathe and relax. Sometimes, you just need to follow your heart and do whatever makes you happy. Eventually, that will lead you to other interesting paths in life.

You do not need to have everything planned out. The more you try to plan things out, the more lost you will become. Don’t over plan. Life is ever-changing. No matter how much you plan, there will always be new, greater things that will come along.

“Life is a daring adventure towards an unknown future. Its beauty depends on how much you enjoy the journey.” — Debasish Mridha

Learn to enjoy the moments along your journey. You are going through this unplanned phase because you need this time to restore and take care of yourself. Enjoy your “free time”. There will always be new plans coming your way, so there’s no need to worry about the unknown tomorrow. Focus and enjoy the present, be excited about the unknown that tomorrow will bring.
