Dribbble Meetups Get Handsome in Austin
The Handsome team hosted our first ever Dribbble meetup at our Austin HQ on August 29th. A little over 100 local creatives came out to hang out, sip cocktails, and talk shop. We even had VR beer pong set up by our friends at Banjo.
One of our Product Designers at Handsome, Justin Reyna, reflected on what this event meant to him and to the Handsome team as a whole.
“Dribbble is a place where creativity, hard work, and craft are celebrated. It’s a community that continuously pushes and inspires me to be a better designer. Hosting this meetup was an opportunity to give back, while connecting with local Austin talent in real life. I had a blast, and I’m really looking forward to the next one.”
Connecting with local talent was the major highlight of the event, and we were thrilled to make that possible for the Austin creative community. One of the attendees was Liz Arezina, a visual designer at Volusion. She said, “I had a blast attending my first Dribbble meet up at Handsome. The event was relaxed and well organized. I enjoyed meeting the designers at Handsome as well as some other peers in the industry. I really enjoyed the swag as well, I think I have a new favorite t-shirt!”
We’d like to give a special shout out to the Austin design community for being a small, but mighty force, continuously inspiring and supporting each other, and for making our event a success. Also, we must mention how grateful we are to Dribbble for providing an incredible platform for creative work and for acting as a medium through which designers can build relationships with peers both locally and globally.
