Since Hangar was founded four years ago, it has been an extraordinary journey. In a rapidly shifting industry, in an ever-changing marketplace, we’ve taken on the challenge of solving Industry’s biggest problems and pushed the boundaries of drone technology. Hangar’s drone mission planning and autonomous flight execution capabilities are unrivaled, and our platform continues to break new ground. Today, we are taking another step in our journey.

I’m proud to announce that Hangar has been acquired by AirMap.

This acquisition is driven by a shared belief that the synthesis of our technologies and talent will enable us to do even more, faster and better than we could alone — especially in regards to serving the developer and enterprise communities.

AirMap is the de facto standard for drone airspace intelligence worldwide, digitizing and automating traditional air traffic management processes, and bringing together national airspace authorities, drone operators and solution providers for safe and efficient access to an increasingly shared sky. Hangar an industry leader in drone operations automation, providing a unified system for autonomous inspection workflows, infrastructure digitalization and applied analytics. Together, AirMap and Hangar will bridge the gap between airspace automation and safe mission execution.

Hangar will be a subsidiary of AirMap. This structure will allow us to continue to develop groundbreaking product offerings, and drive new and deeper customer engagements across two strong brands. We’ve already started integrating our platforms together, and over time developers can expect to see exciting enhancements to AirMap APIs and SDKs, including more enterprise-focused automation.

Our vision for the next era of drone automation is our most audacious yet. This new transition will enable our companies to lead the way in evolving market trends and emerging technologies, as enterprises accelerate the adoption of drones at scale to further digitize their industrial processes and operational workflows.

As we welcome this new chapter and our new team members, I would like to thank the talented and hardworking team at Hangar for your dedication to the future of drones. Today’s announcement is a testament to our perseverance and the extraordinary products we have built over the past few years, and I’m very excited to see what we will accomplish together with AirMap.

It’s a great day for Hangar, for AirMap, and for the drone community and industries on the forefront of change.
