Saying goodbye to Vietnam.

What a trip. We have all learnt so much, seen so much, experienced so much. From the flashiest hotels to the humblest abodes we have been privileged enough to see and be part of them all.

Our last two nights in Ho Chi Minh were spent at Le Meridien Saigon. I have never stayed anywhere like it. We were on the 19th floor with river views. Here pictures are looking up and down the middle of the hotel.

We spent the last little bit of time shopping and then caught a plane to Hanoi and back to our wonderful friend Chris’s apartment.

Dinner out, a bit more shopping and a visit to the red bridge and temple completed our trip.

Saw this silk embroidery while out at the markets, exquisite.

Then it was on a plane home and back to glorious NZ.

What a fantastic, heart warming, heart wrenching at times, trip. Our little family has grown so much, shared so much. We have had the opportunity to make wonderful memories together, catching up on the time we have missed over the past couple of years.

Thoughts on Vietnam, I love the people, the hustle and bustle, the pride in their country. I have seen some wonderful sights, some intriguing things, some not so palatable things. All in all I would say that we have all come away richer for the experience.

To those that have followed this blog we hope you enjoyed reading about our experiences and maybe you have picked up the travel bug too.

I leave you with scooter of the day taken by the wonderful Chris Boulden who we were lucky enough to stay with in Hanoi.
