Learning from others is an important part of being a successful developer, no matter your level of seniority. Here are a few tips for developers looking to learn from their colleagues and mentors

**This article is the 3rd part of a series of articles about developers growth, If this is the first article you have came across I would suggest navigating to the first article :)

  1. Ask questions: Don’t be afraid to ask for help or clarification when you’re unsure about something. Your colleagues and mentors are a valuable resource, and they’ll likely be happy to help you understand something better.
Tip: Some colleagues are having less tolerance for people interrupting all day long. If it’s possible write down some questions thro out the day and ask them all at once when your colleague is ready for that.
  2. Pair program: Pair programming is a mentoring technique where two developers work on the same codebase together, with one person writing code and the other reviewing and providing feedback. This can be an effective way to learn from others, as you can see how they approach problems and ask questions in real-time.
  3. Attend meetups and learning hubs: Attending meetups and learning hubs can be a great way to learn from others in the industry. You’ll have the opportunity to hear from experts and experienced developers, and you can also network with other professionals and potentially find mentors.
  4. Follow industry leaders and expert social groups: Follow industry leaders on social media or subscribe to their blogs to stay up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices in your field. You can also reach out to them for advice or mentorship.
  5. Learn from open-source projects: Many open-source projects have a strong community of contributors, which can be a great resource for learning. You can contribute to open-source projects to learn from other developers and get feedback on your code.

Overall, the key to learning from others is to be proactive and seek out opportunities to learn. By asking questions, collaborating with others, attending events, following industry leaders, and contributing to open-source projects, you can continually improve your skills and knowledge as a developer. Good Luck!
