For women: Have you ever tried Acupuncture to regulate your cycle? Have you also tried herbal formulas in addition to your acupuncture sessions?

Acupuncture itself is amazing in its way: where a tiny needles would effortlessly help increase the body’s metabolism and boost immune systems in-between the channels and meridians. Not only for treating most commonly known various pain conditions, but also many other internal organ pattern differential diagnosis according to the Oriental Medicine Theories.

Herbal formulas has been pass along for thousands of years in Asia for it’s effectiveness in treating various disease at time when needles are not easily accessible to the public, especially during the historical periods when Acupuncture sessions was a privilege to the wealth and royal families only. Herbs are like the vegetable and fruit we harvest naturally from the mother nature. With the advance in technology nowadays, we are able to have various options of herbal company who would process the herbal formula into decoctions (herbal soups) extracts handy.

One of my favorite in the clinic would be the Evergreen herbs. Of course, I also includes options from other wonderful companies including but not limited to QualiHerbs, TCMZone, SunTen 順天, KPC-Herbs 港香蘭, ShengChang 勝昌, and Dao Labs. (and I’m open for any suggestions as well as special herbal order requests) [Attentions: These statements above and below are not sponsored. I’m sharing solely from my personal 10 years of clinical practice and experiences as of today. ]

The reason behind my preference in majority of the Evergreen herbs are not only the fulfillment of my herbal restocking conveniency, but also the collection formula Dr. John Chen, Research Director of Evergreen and a doctor in both Oriental Medicine and Western Pharmacology, compiled from meticulous research of traditional herbal formulas and years of clinical experiences from various masters in hospitals or rural villages. These collection formulas have definitely help translate the lost art of Oriental Medicine into my daily practices of promoting new healthy goal alongside my patients’ various health journeys.

Now, was your answer yes in the beginning of this read? If so, you may have already experienced the miracle of herbs in combination with your regular Acupuncture treatments so far.

To conclude my first herbal introduction into my readers, I would like to address this series of formulas from the collection, named Blossom Phase 1, 2, 3, and 4.

I have used Blossom for so many conditions related to women’s monthly cycle, from endometriosis to irregular period, and most of all, Fertility enhancement and preconception health.

Phase 1 are usually taken during the week of menstruation, for moving blood and regulate menses.

Phase 2 tonifies kidney yin 腎陰, nourishes blood, and replenishes kidney jing 腎精 (essence) following the week of mensuration . In western medicine language would be: help building up estrogen, FSH, as well as the quality and quantity of follicles and egg productions.

Phase 3 are taken during the ovulation phase. While tonifying mingmen 命門 (life gate) and kidney yang 腎陽, it aims for optimal ovulation by supporting the LH surge.

Finally, Phase 4 moves qi and blood in the lower jiao 下焦; spreads liver qi. This formula boost progesterone and estrogen to build a healthy lining for implantation or help releasing any stress and cramps categorized in premenstrual syndrome (PMS) by releasing Qi stagnation and moving the blood to get you ready for the next period.

After all, everyone’s situation and health conditions are not the same. Customized the treatment plan from your doctor, acupuncturist, herbalist is very important. A formula used for your best friend next door, may not be the right formula for you at the same time even though you are both experiencing the first period on the same day. Seek for professional advise for your health, don’t hesitate and wrongfully taking the medication your BFF trying to sabotage (Oh, no, I mean love) you. (JK 😉 )

That’s all the love I’m sharing tonight, wish you Health and Happiness with all my love and passion, until the next topic.
