As Jonathan Haidt says in his book The Happiness Hypothesis: “If you do a random act of kindness for a stranger and it’s a one-shot deal, there’s much less likelihood that you’re going to see any benefit.”

Performing random acts of kindness has proven health benefits for the doer,(https://www.dartmouth.edu/wellness/emotional/rakhealthfacts.pdf) but perhaps we should be making our acts of kindness more purposeful.

At Happy Coffee we’re trying to connect people with their kindness, allowing them to share inspirational stories of people who deserve a cup of coffee (or tea), and allow others to buy a stranger a cup of coffee. Those strangers get the feedback loop on their good deed.

We hope this creates a community of giving. Allowing the giver, receiver and nominator to get all the feel good benefits of their purposeful act of kindness.

Imagine what it feels like to receive an unsolicited gift from someone you know, and from a stranger who wanted to do a good deed?

So what are you waiting for?
