Take a look at our top 12 dog-friendly hotels to visit on your next staycation.

If you think a hotel next to the iconic race circuit would be all about the cars you’d be wrong. The Goodwood Hotel has a very special part of the hotel reserved for residents and dogs alike called The Hound Lodge. Guests and their dogs are given butler service with doggy treats available upon request.

Lime Wood — Hampshire

Gorgeous sprawling grounds and gardens are perfect for dogs to run free. But the real kicker is the welcome gift for dogs of a Bonio biscuit wrapped in a bow. Makes you wonder what the dog has done that you haven’t to warrant such treats.

Best Western Mayfield Hotel — Cotswolds

Dogs are welcome in every area of the hotel other than the dining room. But they can eat with you in the Snug bar or out on the terrace, weather permitting. But the real joy is the dog- friendly beach and zoo nearby.

Overwater Hotel — Lake District

Dogs are welcome here in your room as well as one of the lounge bars. If you fancy a night out on the town, or lake, but would prefer to leave pooch at home there is even a dog sitting service.

The Three Swans — Leicestershire

First dogs stay for free at The Three Swans which is always nice but they’ll also get a dog bowl, a ball, treats and a poem upon arrival. When was the last time a hotel gave you a poem?

The Milestone Hotel — London

The Milestone has a pet concierge. Yes, a concierge that caters specifically to your dog. Upon arrival dogs are presented with a hamper which includes treats, toys and a Milestone collar. There’s even a ‘Do Not Disturb: Pet Sleeping’ sign on the doors.

The Cary Arms — Devon

Two ground floor rooms are specially reserved for those traveling with their dogs. A ‘Doggy Heaven’ welcome pack includes treats, a bed, bowl and a guide to the best local walks for you and your four-legged friend to enjoy together.

The Cholmondeley Arms — Cheshire

All you really need to know about The Cholmondeley Arms, other than the fact it’s stunning, is that it serves dog beer. Yup, your dog can knock back a few with you in the bar. The dog beer is made from meat stock.

Moor of Rannoch Hotel — Perth and Kinross

Despite the 132 square kilometres of almost untouched wilderness for you and your dog to explore during your stay, dogs also get a complimentary sausage for breakfast. Is anyone else thinking people love dogs as much as we do?
