BNI invited HARA on a roadshow series as the digital solution for loan management
This January, HARA joined BNI on their roadshow to five different cities across Indonesia. The main topic for the roadshow was to discuss the current progress of BNI’s goal to disburse more (Kredit Usaha Rakyat) microcredit loans. The events saw numerous BNI staff from across the country get together, eagerly awaiting their turn to present their progress. Firnando Sirait, HARA VP Business Development & International Operations, was there to talk about the contributions we have made.
BNI’s goal for 2019 is to reach a 60% KUR disbursement target for agriculture, animal husbandry, fishery, and services industry sectors. The goal BNI has set for this year aligns perfectly with HARA’s mission, especially relating to KUR disbursements in the agricultural sector. In 2018 HARA already helped BNI disburse a total of Rp 332M in microcredit loans in the regency of Situbondo, East Java.
BNI is actively searching for digital solutions to optimize its loan management processes and has been working with several companies to do so.
“Every traditional business practice is being disrupted right now. If we are to survive this new era, we must adapt to the new technology, to be of better service to our customers, and to increase the efficiency & effectiveness of our business practices.” — Bambang Setyatmojo, BNI Division Head for Small Businesses Division 2
To do this, BNI has a pressing need for third-party big data providers that can deliver easy-to-use-yet-accurate verification & loan management systems, including mobile apps and microsites. So, how HARA can help BNI to enrich their business practices?
First, the big data provider. HARA is already a data provider for BNI, and already has an accountable database of over 13,000 farmers. Our database is accountable because of our dedicated field agents working tirelessly every day for the sake of the farmers. HARA will gladly continue to provide data to assist BNI in providing microcredits for smallholder farmers.
Second, verification & loan management systems. HARA can enrich the verification & loan management on top of BNI’s current system through our own mobile app, which is already being used to input data of thousands of farmers across the country. Verification is done seamlessly, automatically, and utilizing unique encrypted identities for every farmer in our blockchain-based database. Because of the data HARA collects, BNI can gain insights to make an informed decision about its loan disbursement, e.g. whether to approve or decline loan application based on applicant’s data on HARA’s database. And so far, we have a payback rate of 100%.
“I applaud BNI for its willingness to embrace the exciting new technologies to increase efficiencies & effectiveness in its business practices. This is what makes us even more confident to continue working together with BNI.” — Firnando Sirait, HARA VP Business Development & International Operation
BNI is looking to further implement digital banking & loan processing this year, and HARA is more than happy to help BNI achieve their goals.
