HARA partners up with the African Business Institute
Back in May, HARA’s CEO Regi Wahyu was invited as a guest lecturer to the African Business Institute (ABI) in Lilongwe, Malawi and Kampala, Uganda, to share about how blockchain technology can be used to improve the lives of millions.
ABI itself is a school that is focused on educating its students on the ins and outs of entrepreneurship, and helping them create and run their own business. Wahyu, described by the university as a “celebrated serial entrepreneur from Indonesia with a long track record of digital-based start-up companies,” attracted a sizable audience of eager listeners.
In a room packed with postgraduate students, Wahyu shared his vision on how big data analytics can change Africa’s agricultural sector. Other notable attendees of the lecture were the ABI’s president, Jun Shiomitsu, and members of the national press.
“I am so grateful and blessed for having the privilege to discuss and share our project with the African Business Institute post graduate students,” Wahyu commented, “I had a great time discussing about future technology, about entrepreneurship, [and] about leadership.”
The students of the ABI also took HARA’s CEO to Malawi’s wet markets for some hands-on experience and a taste of the local culture. Different aspects of the workings of the local agricultural supply chain were shown and explained by the students to a CEO who was as eager to learn as the students had been during the lecture.
After the trip, Wahyu expressed his desire to come back to the school to see how HARA can collaborate with the ABI to create a positive impact for millions of east African smallholder farmers.
HARA has also entered into a partnership with the African Business Institute for the deployment of the HARA ecosystem in Kenya and Uganda.
