HARA supports BNI to digitize the KUR
The collaboration between BNI 46 and HARA will bring easier access for farmers to get financial assistance.
Bojonegoro, 2019. After the success in digitizing and providing added value to farmer data, HARA works together with BNI 46 in the microloan program or KUR (Kredit Usaha Rakyat), which was held on May 28, 2019, in Bakalan Village, Kapas District. In addition, this program is the first to be run digitally supported by HARA technology. HARA is a blockchain-based data exchange company that focuses on the agricultural and food sectors.
Established in 2015, HARA has built a unique infrastructure that fits for rural areas where currently there are 250 villages that have joined the HARA ecosystem. Assisted by HARA field agents (KP), with a total of more than 1,200 people, the required information and documents will be collected and digitized. Having this information digitally available will help BNI to speed up the loan origination and disbursement process. Furthermore, this whole process will also help run the Kartu Tani program. All information that has been collected will set a benchmark for Rencana Definitif Kebutuhan Kelompok or RDKK regarding the disbursement of subsidized fertilizers for smallholder farmers. As of April 2019, HARA has 20,732 farmers data spread across various regions in Indonesia.
Attended by the district government of Bojonegoro, the event was held in conjunction with a joint iftar (break-fasting for Muslims). In addition to the launch and endorsement of the collaboration between BNI and HARA, several HARA field agents were also specially appointed to be the Collecting Agent (CA) to assist the payment process from the farmers. Now farmers no longer have to travel long distances to process payments.
“HARA feels privileged that BNI chose HARA as their partner to digitize the KUR. I strongly believe that BNI and HARA work complementary to create more opportunities for Rural Indonesia.” Regi Wahyu — CEO and Founder HARA
The program starts from the rice and corn sector in Bojonegoro (East Java, Indonesia) and will develop into several surrounding areas such as Tuban, Lamongan, Jombang, and Nganjuk. After rice and corn, the program will move to other types of commodities.
The signing of the collaboration between BNI 46 and HARA will be carried out as proof that both companies are ready to work together to realize the life of smallholder farmers and contribute to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by promoting financial inclusion across the archipelago.
