From now on I will try to make a monthly post with news related to Harbour and other interesting links that can help you to grow as a Harbour programmer. Let’s go.
- Enric Lendvai has published an impressive post about how to develop and debug Harbour programs with VSCODE. You can read it in his Harbour Wiki, in this post https://harbour.wiki/index.asp?page=PublicArticles&mode=show&id=190401174818&sig=6893630672
- Manuel Calero Solís has published on GiHub the code of his hbunit classes used in the conference about Unit testing with harbour on the 2nd Harbour Magazine programmers meeting. You have it in this link: https://github.com/manuelcalerosolis/hbunit
- Manuel Calero suggests the following reading: TDD Changed my life https://medium.com/javascript-scene/tdd-changed-my-life-5af0ce099f80
- I announced in the last post that one of the main topics on the 2nd Harbour Magazine programmers meeting was the ORM. In http://zetcode.com/python/peewee/ you have an explication about PeeWee, a simple ORM for Python.
- Following with Pythin, an interesting article abour Python’s decorators: https://www.apsl.net/blog/2009/08/31/decoradores-en-python/ This functionality is not available in Harbour and it is a pity that we cannot use it.
- Another topic of interest in the harbour magazine messaging group has been Machine Learning. Here are two links for you to dive in the subject: https://blog.chatbot.mx/el-machine-learning-es-divertido-parte-1/ and https://medium.com/@lfcj/machine-learning-es-divertido-parte-2-b12f488675c5. At http://forums.fivetechsupport.com/viewtopic.php?p=208471#p208471 you have an approach using harbour/FWH and in https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/harbour-users/8ISRL2y88Gw the same sample just in Harbour.
- The Xailer team has announced the availability of version 6 of XEdit, its free code editor, which incorporates the possibility of debugging GUI applications made with Harbour. You have the announcement in https://www.xailer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=13690 and you can download it from http://www2.xailer.com/download/?es&cat=1
- Cristóbal Navarro has announced the next inclusion in FivEdit of his TGithub class, which will allow its editor to access the GitHub API from FivEdit itself. You have the announcement in http://forums.fivetechsupport.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=37047
Do you have a link you’d like to share with the Harbour community? Send it to me and I will publish it in the next edition of the Harbour Magazine links.
