Harmony, Stellar, Tron, Wanchain and more join hands to Seize The Blockchain Education Opportunity
Harmony is committed to developing the next generation of Blockchain engineers & that’s why we invest heavily in recruiting young talent directly from leading universities! We have joined hands with 12 leading public infrastructure blockchain projects to launch the Blockchain Education Alliance!
The Blockchain Education Alliance aims to provide mentorship and support to college students through virtual and in-person workshops and meetings.
The alliance’s first members include Harmony, Stellar Development Foundation, Tron, Hedera, Icon, Ontology, Wanchain, Nervos, Orbs, LTO Network, Emurgo, Nem, and ETC Labs.
“Educating students about the potential for blockchain technology to shape a new future will ensure that the industry gets the most passionate people involved,” Ashlie Meredith, program director at MouseBelt University, told Decrypt. “The students feel like they can be a part of this and get paid well to do it.”
The Alliance will so advise participating universities on the curriculum for courses focused on blockchain technology, as well as collaborate with individuals looking to develop their own blockchain projects and connect them to potential job opportunities in the crypto space.
“Blockchain technology is currently at a crucial point of innovation, presenting endless possibilities for businesses. As Harmony, we have set aggressive targets for ourselves to drive deep innovation among DEFI, governance, supply chain, and gaming which can be achieved through four key pillars — infrastructure development, innovation, digital skills development and building trustworthy technologies. In order to make it happen, we are dependent on recruiting exceptional tech talent! Prior to getting to the point that we will notice the blockchain engineer shortage, we invest in educating and training junior talent directly from the universities to get involved with Harmony ecosystem development!” Harmony’s Business & Community Manager Nikos Kostopoulos stated.
The initiative has been well covered by mainstream media like VentureBeat, along with the leading mediums in the consensus industry like CoinTelegraph & CryptoBriefing.

The new alliance is spearheaded by blockchain accelerator MouseBelt, which intends to build a network of industry leaders to bring blockchain technology to the forefront through education and research. MouseBelt director Ashlie Meredith said students are eager to be educated by established blockchain experts, adding:
“Universities need established experts in the space to help develop curriculum and projects — and Stellar, TRON, Hedera, ICON, Ontology, Wanchain, Harmony One, Nervos, Orbs, LTO Network, Emurgo, NEM, and ETC Labs are well positioned to share valuable knowledge. We have an opportunity to have a positive impact on how blockchain technology is introduced to students, which will result in more blockchain developers, more innovative research, and higher quality companies.”
We’re inviting administrators, researchers, policy makers, and enterprise and industry professionals to work collectively to cultivate the next generation of blockchain leaders. Alliance members can provide mentorship through the University Program by advising during office hours, hosting workshops, or providing educational content. Enterprise partners can connect with leading educational institutions to fund research, academic conferences, and accredited blockchain courses addressing various use cases. Developers, platforms, and protocols can help deploy real-world pilots of innovative solutions in collaboration with students, researchers, and MouseBelt’s development shop. Member organizations will also be eligible to receive training and resources to further their knowledge of blockchain.
