A popular trend, nowadays, is keeping a lookout for trendy new restaurants, visiting the place before everyone else and grabbing the title of the most hip person in the friend circle. So, why not make it a new year’s resolution by making it a point to visit, at least, one new restaurant a month? This certainly isn’t an easy task — always keeping track of new restaurant openings, but worry no more! We, at Harriken have the solution for you. With our team of food enthusiasts, scouring around Dhaka, we’re sure to spot every new restaurant just in time. So, we introduce New in Town - now more enriched and area-specific. Discovering the trendiest new restaurant around you has never been easier. While we bring information on restaurants to you all year, you can be the first to step foot there and narrate the story of this discovery (with our help of course but we won’t tell) to your friends.

Dhanmondi

On a more serious note, the July 1, 2016 terror attacks dealt a massive blow on the restaurant industry. Eating out, which was once a favorite social activity, almost got lost in caution. So, the recent surge in the restaurant business, is a sign that the industry is recovering and may even be heading towards its best days ever.

Bashundhara

In the past two months, almost 200 new restaurants opened up all around Dhaka, with 62 in Dhanmondi alone. Through our analytics, we have identified eight hot spots around the capital with the highest levels of activity - Banani, Bashundhara, Dhanmondi, Gulshan, Khilgaon, Mirpur, Mohammadpur and Uttara. As already mentioned, Dhanmondi (specifically Satmasjid Road) and Uttara, have enjoyed more activity than others. This has also meant that growth in other areas, such as Banani and Gulshan, has slowed down in relative terms.

Uttara

With a large number of new restaurants openings in these eight areas, we decided to split them up by location, so that looking up new restaurants in your area, or an area frequented by you is now more convenient.

Banani

So what are you waiting for? Let the exploration begin and let us for once chase a new year’s resolution that’s achievable, fun and isn’t one that’ll go to waste.
